About This Event / イベントについて
Koiya Matsuri is Kansai’s large student-organised dance festival, held since 2000. The 2026 theme is “Smile 100, connecting without limit.” The main stage is Taiyo no Hiroba in Osaka Castle Park — a short subway ride from Namba / Dotonbori — with additional castle-park stages (yagura, Education Tower, Memorial Forest parade on selected days).
Hours are 10:00–20:00 both days (venue-dependent). Teams mix original choreography, hip-hop, and folk steps. Entry is free; come for the colour of happi coats and the sound of naruko clappers.
A satellite stage at Umeda Sky Building is in Kita-ku (north Osaka) and is outside this Minami guide. Check koiya.net for the latest venue-by-venue timetable.

JR Osakajokoen Station is about a 6-minute walk north of Taiyo no Hiroba.
JR大阪城公園駅から太陽の広場まで北へ徒歩約6分。
Bring sun protection — most of the square is open sky.
広場は日陰が少ないので日差し対策を。
Food stalls are typical; cash is still useful.
屋台は現金が無難。
Ignore the Umeda Sky Building listing if you are staying in Namba — stay at the castle-park stages.
なんば滞在なら梅田スカイビル会場は飛ばし、城公園ステージに集中を。
