About This Event / イベントについて
CHIMNEY TOWN HALLOWEEN 2026 in NAMBA runs Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 October 2026 at Namba Square, in front of Nankai Namba Station. Hours are 12:00 to 21:00. Lanterns light from 16:00. Entry is free. Organiser is NANKAI. Co-organisers are CHIMNEY TOWN (Akihiro Nishino) and Meta Osaka. Osaka City is a backer.
The stated idea is that the town wears the costume, not the crowd. About 5,000 lanterns and eyeball objects fill the square. The same eyeball mark wraps Nankai 8300-series set 8320-8620-8670-8420 from 5 October on the Namba to Wakayamako and Kansai Airport lines, and the Namba Station grand staircase from 5 to 18 October.
An XR session with MR goggles is planned in the square 13:00 to 21:00 on the four plaza days. It is free after a survey. No age limit. Developer is U. NANKAI will also run AI-camera emotion analysis on site. Footage is processed statistically, not as named portraits, according to the 2 October release.
Official photos released so far are concept images, some generated with AI. Walk the square after 16:00 if you want the lanterns on. 17 and 18 October overlap with acosta! on the Dotonbori canal. The square is a 8 to 12 minute walk from Ebisu-bashi.
This plaza weekend sits inside GREATER NAMBA FESTIVAL (10 October to 15 November). Hours can shift. Use the official page the morning you go.

Arrive after 16:00 if the lanterns are the point. Noon is the unlit build.
提灯が目的なら16時以降。昼は点灯前の設営に近い。
17-18 October is also acosta on the canal. Buy that ticket first, then walk to the square.
17・18日は川のacostaと重なる。acostaの券を先に買い、終わってから広場へ歩く。
The wrapping train is one 4-car set. Do not wait on the platform for every Nankai departure.
ラッピング電車は4両1編成。南海の毎列車ではない。
