A Scott
(Second floor!) Walked in after walking around the area for hours wanting steak and beer. No other people were here but we did come to Japan after a busy holiday week. Very friendly and very delicious - would recommend

Gekkokamen, whose name nods to the masked hero of post-war television, is a Namba teppanyaki institution that has been quietly grilling black wagyu for decades. The chef personally tastes and selects each cut of beef, working only with black wagyu that passes an internal panel, and the menu spans fillet, sirloin and a comparison course that lets diners try both. The 26-seat room mixes an 18-seat main counter with private counter booths, and the kitchen also turns out seafood courses built around lobster and abalone. A carefully chosen wine list, plus champagne and whisky, supports the rich meat cookery, and birthday plates are a specialty. For a special occasion meal that blends theatre, craft and old-fashioned Osaka hospitality, Gekkokamen remains a trusted hideaway.
